January 2017 Meeting: “After Trump” — 1/24

Happy new year,

Our next meeting of the Racial Literacies working group will be Tuesday, January 24 at noon. The reading we’ve selected is a piece written for the Boston Review by Dr. Robin Kelley (who is currently at U of Southern California but he used to be a postdoc at UNC Chapel Hill over 20 years ago) called “After Trump”–since we are meeting on Jan 24, it will, indeed, be after D. Trump has been sworn in as President. Here’s the link to the article:

We will be meeting at the Hitchcock auditorium/multipurpose room in the Stone Center.

We hope to see many returning faces–and we appreciate any suggestions for other readings to add to either the private Sakai site or the public website–and we welcome volunteers who would like to lead/moderate a future session of Racial Literacies. Please spread the word. The discussions and collegiality and community have been so important for us, especially in light of recent events.

Best,

Mark, Chris, Jennifer H., China, and Jennifer P.
